Dairy Farm
More milk from the fodder you already have.
A short guide for cow and buffalo farmers: what to feed at each stage, and how much.
Why TMR for milking animals
Same in every bite
The animal can't pick out only what it likes.
Fits your fodder
You feed TMR-E only for what your fodder can't give.
Less work
No daily mixing of bran, cake and minerals.
Known cost
Cost a day and cost per litre, before you buy.
What each animal needs
Giving milk
TMR-E for the milk: cow 0.8 kg a litre, buffalo 1.25 kg a litre, on top of her upkeep. Add Milk Booster: 1 sachet a day (2 for higher yields).
Dry
Upkeep only: fodder, or 7–8 kg TMR-E a day for a cow with no fodder (8–9 kg for a buffalo).
Pregnant
Extra TMR-E a day: +1 kg in the first third, +2 kg in the middle, +3 kg in the last third.
Heifers and calves
By body weight: about 2 kg a day at 100 kg, up to 4 kg at 250 kg. Calves under 3 months: milk and calf starter, not TMR-E.
Your farm, your numbers
The Feed Plan does the sums for all your animals and the fodder you have: kg a day, bags a month and the cost.
