Our own 220-cow dairy couldn't afford to make TMR. So we built a factory to make it for every farmer in India.
Our story
We ran a dairy farm of 220 cows and wanted to feed them the way the best farms in the world do: with a Total Mixed Ration. Setting up TMR making on the farm was too expensive. If a farm of 220 cows couldn't do it, what about the 99% of Indian farmers who keep fewer than 5 cattle? So in 2014 we decided to make TMR in a factory, for every farmer. We began in 2015 with 10,000 tonnes a year; today our plant at Kodur makes 1 lakh tonnes a year. The Animal Husbandry Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh partnered with us to supply our TMR to farmers across the state, from 2015 to 2020 and again from 2021 to 2026.
